Se locali a luci rosse e coffe shops non fanno per voi, lasciatevi affascinare da canali, caffè ed eleganti boutiques.

QUARTIERI 

1) CENTRO (cuore medievale della città, principali attrazioni turistiche, Palazzreale e caffè) e QUARTIERE A LUCI ROSSE 
2) JORDAN e CANALI OVEST : affascinanti stradine, pub, caffè e boutiques
3) VONDELPARK equivalente di Hide park, zone dei musei (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum)
4) CANALI A SUD (musei meno frequentati, mercato dei fiori, pubs)
5) NIEUWMARKT E PLANTAGE quartiere antico, di atmosfera, vestigia ebraiche, museo d i re brandy
6) PIJP equivalente del Quartier Latin di Parigi, cupmark ( mercato più grande della città)

MUOVERSI: Tram, bus o bici. Dall'aeroporto treno diretto alla stazione centrale (15 minuti e 4 euro).
JENEVER, CAFFÈ' e COFFEE SHOPS 
Il jenever è l'equivalente olandese del gin, servito in bicchieri a forma di tulipano.
Caffè (cafe')= pub, dove si servono birra e alcolici.
Coffee shops sono i locali dove ci si procura marijuana: si serve anche caffè ma l'alcool è vietato.

PROSTITUZIONE: la prostituzione e' legalizzata e viene considerata dagli olandesi come un' industria come un altra. Fatevi un giro in centro, vicino alla chiesa di Oude Kerk: in case con pareti di vetro ragazze offrono palesemente il proprio corpo (alcune sono addirittura specializzate in clienti europei/ asiatici etc). Le lanterne rosse fuori sono il tratto distintivo per questo tipo di business.

AMSTERDAM's DISTRICTS
1) CITY CENTRE: medieval heart of the City, tourist attractions, Royal Palace and
RED LIGHT DISTRICT.
2) JORDAN e CANALI OVEST: fascinating streets, pubs, cafés and boutiques
3) VONDELPARK museum district (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum)
4) SOUTHERN CANALS ( interesting museums, flower market, pubs)
5) NIEUWMARKT  & PLANTAGE: old district with lots of atmosphere, Jewish synagogue, Rembrandt house
6) PIJP: Amsterdam's version of Parisian Quartier Latin (Albert Cuypmarkt: the biggest market of the city)

TRANSPORT: 
Tramway, buses and bikes. From the airport there s a direct train that takes you to the central station in 15 minutes (for 4 euros).
JENEVER, CAFE' & COFFEE SHOPS 
Jenever: typical Netherlands liquor, to be drunken in tulip glasses
Cafe': pub, where you can hang out and have a beer
Coffee shops: places where you can buy marijuana
Prostitution: 
In Netherlands prostitution is legal and it's regarded as any other activity. Close to Oude Kerk there are many places (in the red light district) where prostitutes work, selling their body behind glass windows.
